TPSA Hosts Officials in Ottawa and Toronto from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade

From April 1–5, 2019, TPSA offered hands-on training and site visits in Canada to 9 officials from the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia that are relevant to the project’s three target industries—apparel, coffee, and footwear. The officials met with counterpart Canadian standards and regulatory bodies in Ottawa and Toronto to discuss the following priority issues identified by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Learning about how Canada applies risk-based testing approaches.
- Learning about Canadian standards in general, to assist Indonesia to harmonize their standards (and prevent trade barriers arising from non-aligned standards).
- Learning about how Canada manages the process of consumer protection / awareness raising / product feedback mechanisms.
