June 26, 2019

- Jakarta

Canada and Indonesia celebrated the successful completion of the Canada–Indonesia Trade and Private Sector Assistance (TPSA) project at a one-day final conference in Jakarta on June 26, 2019.

The conference was attended by nearly 100 people, including the Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia, other senior Global Affairs Canada officials, senior officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, BKPM, and other ministries, and representatives from various Indonesian business associations and SMEs. The objective of the conference was to highlight the final achievements of the TPSA project.

The conference was kicked off by speeches from Ibu Arlinda, the Director General of DGNED, and H.E. Peter MacArthur, the the Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia. Various presentations followed from the TPSA project participants, including panels highlighting the positive impact of the TPSA project to support improved government, private sector, and SME outcomes, and to support better gender equality and environmental performance.

The C$12 million, five-year TPSA project, implemented by The Conference Board of Canada, increased sustainable and gender-responsive trade and investment opportunities, particularly for Indonesian SMEs and improved the use of trade and investment analysis by Indonesian stakeholders for expanded trade and investment partnerships between Indonesia and Canada.
