TPSA’s project partner, the Directorate General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade, organized a one-day sharing knowledge forum for SME footwear producers in Bandung, West Java. Bandung and its surrounding area is well known as a center for footwear producers in Indonesia. The forum was designed to share knowledge and skills on how to attend international footwear trade shows. Said Fauzan Baabud, TPSA project manager, presented on the export opportunities for Indonesian footwear producers in the Canadian market.

Mr. Baabud was followed by Henny Setiadi from PT. Venanom, which was assisted by the TPSA project to attend Footwear Sourcing at MAGIC trade show in Las Vegas in February 2018 and August 2017. Ms. Setiadi shared her lessons learned and discussed the skills she gained from the TPSA training and technical assistance on how to promote her products and enter and engage with Canadian and American markets. She talked about the practical experience and training she received on how to prepare for a trade show, what to do during the trade show, and how to follow up with potential buyers after the show. She emphasized the importance of good promotional materials, quality assurance, pricing, and the story of the company.
