On September 27, 2018, TPSA was invited by the Directorate General of National of Export Development, Ministry of Trade, to be a presenter at a seminar on coffee in Makale, Tana Toraja District, South Sulawesi Province. Tana Toraja area is one of the largest Arabica coffee producing regions in Indonesia. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss promotion and marketing strategies for Toraja coffee to enter the international market. The opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Marolop Nainggolan from the ministry and Vice Head of the Tana Toraja district. Participants at the seminar included coffee producers, farmer groups, coffee collectors, coffee extension workers, and related government official of the ministries of trade, industry, agriculture, and cooperatives and SMEs.

Said Fauzan Baabud of the TPSA project presented on the market potential for Toraja coffee in Canada. He explained Canadian coffee consumer behaviour, coffee competition within Canada, and the potential for niche market coffee and specialty coffee.
